Start with a Squeeze & Lift to gain awareness of your pelvic floor

What is “Pelvic Health” or “Women’s Health” Physio?

A special area of Physiotherapy that focuses on Women's Health throughout a lifespan

Many women are surprised to hear that this special area of physiotherapy even exists and sadly most don’t know what we can do to help.

Pelvic health physiotherapist’s have studied a postgraduate master’s degree to become expert clinicians in managing pelvic conditions. They are able to perform internal and external pelvic exams and use the Real-Time Ultrasound for biofeedback of the pelvic floor muscles.

Lydia takes a sensitive, holistic and evidence-based approach to treatment. Her goal is to help you feel in control of your body so that you can get back to doing the things that matter the most to you.

Pelvic Floor Assessment by Lydia

What are the pelvic floor muscles?

The pelvic floor is a unique group of muscles that create a sling across the floor of the pelvis. They contract and relax like any other muscle and have the ability to stretch and shorten.

The pelvic floor muscles support the abdominal and pelvic organs, allow storage and emptying of the bowel and bladder, allow sexual activity and childbirth.
